Gyárfás is a poster designer, who started his career in the 1970’s, after finishing his studies at the Typographic faculty at the Academy of Applied Arts.
He used various techniques to create his cultural and movie poster designs; some of them utilized color photos of an object installation, others are drawn compositions. He also worked on illustrations for large publishing houses.
In the 1970's he already created succesful political posters for safety and health care campaigns. He designed many movie posters and book posters between the 1980’s and 1990’s. One of his best works is his poster for Woody Allen's "A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy", created in 1984.
Today he is member of the Hungarian Poster Association (MPT). .
