Description:

Grotesque composition for a Hungarian movie, 'The Mock' directed by Péter Gárdos and starring Gábor Reviczky, Dezső Garas, Enikő Eszenyi, Mari Törőcsik, Juli Básti, László Sinkó and Armin Mueller-Stahl.

The poster was designed by a Polish poster artist, Ducki who considers himself a “Polish person but Hungarian artist”. His unique, simple but very personal style is apparent on this poster as well. He usually uses one intensive background colour and continuous black line drawing on his posters. His compositions usually show a compact motif that has a double meaning. His dynamic drawing on this poster shows a tin chockablocked with a man's head and hands. The atmosphere is quite overwhelming as we see the man's pain as he cannot get out of the tin despite he is trying very hard.

The compoition captured the story of the film very well. The plot is about Tamás Holl an art dealer who is being mocked by two man he doesn't even know. They spread rumours about him and the situation soon gets unbearable. Holl tries to understand their motivation and to find a solution to the situation but it is much harder than he thought it would be.
