Barta Ernő

1878 - 1956

Graphic artist, who was active since the turn of the century. His poster designs followed a decorative Art Nouveau style, in which the drawing plays the main role.

At first Barta designed posters for cultural events (such as exhibitions). Then he created political posters during the First World War and the Hungarian Soviet Republic of 1919. He also took part in the rightist irredentist campaigns of 1920, that were fighting against the Treaty of Trianon.                                                                                                                                                 .
