Snowflake cream parfait
Tram poster (cca. 17 x 24 cm)
Fine, fold mark in upper left corner.
Poster for a dessert, the Hópehely cream parfait. According to the poster the dessert was available at the Csemege Retail Chain. Csemege was founded in 1952, four years after the establishment of Közért. Both of them were state-owned supermarkets but while Közért was rather a small and traditional chain, Csemege was said to be very modern and to offer a larger variety of products at the time. Two years after the change of the system in 1991 it was bought by the Julius Meinl chain and has gone through variuos changes ever since.
This poster is a lovely piece by Irén Tomaska who did many illustrations for children's books. Her posters are playful and humorous, just as this one. She was awarded with the main prize for the best commercial poster in 1958 what she designed for the candy Zi-Zi.
