Tram poster for a book published in 1961. The disign is the same as the cover of the book.

The book was published by the Building Documentary Office. In 1961 the government declared that their goal was to achieve that all citizens in Hungary will have a house or apartment of their own within 15 years. The building development plan set the aim of building one-million homes in the following 15 years. The government in order to realize this plan was expecting to get a great support from workers. The major part of building one-million homes wasw supposed to be done from private resources or with a governmental support according to the plans. The ones building from their personal funds were said to be making a big sacrifice and the government offered some help to make their job easier. Such help was a long-dated loan or a discounted land. As they said then, the experience proved that the houses built by individuals do not satisfy their needs, the design trends and the interests of the economy despite the sacrifice of the individuals and the help of the government. This is mainly due to the plans being dissatisfactory. There were a plenty of houses based on half-baked plans and uneconomical designs. This was what the Ministry of Building wants to help with by taking the needs of the builders into consideration and involving experienced designers it created a collection of plans satisfying a large variety of needs. These plans were published in the book advertised by this tram poster.

The geometric design, the purity of the typeface and the colours make the composition very organized and resemble the Bauhaus style.
