Poster Exhibition 1956
|Máté, András||A1 1 Sheet (cca. 55 x 84 cm)|
|1956||Fine. With small tears on the sides.|
This poster is a very early of András Máté. The occasion was also unique: in the April of 1956, a poster exhibition was organized in the National Salon, which radically changed the standards of poster design. This was the first time since years, that the Hungarian artists (poster designers) rebelled against the official socialist realist style. (And all that happened months before the revolution in October 1956). Most of the exhibited works were designs that never appeared on the streets. The new, expressive, painted poster style is well demonstrated on Máté's painted design.
