Szinte Gábor
1928 - 2012
Painter, graphic artist and stage designer. He was working in Hungary after the 1960's.
He emigrated to Italy after the fall of the revolution in 1956. He finished his studies as a painter at the Academy of Florence.
Szinte came home in the 1960's, when he faced the problem that he doesn't get work as a painter because of his past. That is why he first turned to the theatre. During his career he created many stage- and costume designs, and he often worked for movies, such as for the films of the famous director Zoltán Várkonyi.
He also started to design posters, mostly for theatre performances. His works are usually cheerful and colorful, representing his realist painting style.
