Oláh György

György Oláh is a graphic designer and art teacher. He has been active since the 1970s.

He graduated under the supervision of György Konecsni and György Kádár at the Academy of Fine Arts. He is designing posters, emblems, exhibition designs, and he is also making textile designs and paintings. He worked frequently for Hungexpo and the Hungarian Post.

Oláh has been teaching at the Academy of Fine Arts since 1981. In the 1970s he designed movie posters, most of them are very decorative pieces. There is a great variety among his works; some are detailed, drawn compositions while others are good examples of Pop Art style. There are also a few pieces which are close to the Minimalist painting and the typographic poster style of the period.                                                                                                                                               .
