Tedesco Anna

1903 - 1969

Anna Tedesco was a graphic designer. She graduated from the School of Applied Arts in the 1920s.

In the 1930s she took part in exhibitions and designed posters, mostly for commercial companies. Between 1945 and 1951 she lead the propaganda activities of the Hungarian Red Cross.

After World War II, she designed many political posters. Her designs for the Népfront (People’s Front) in 1949 and in the early 1950s follow the strict socialist realist manner. She used characters representing the working class, smiling and looking forward, while in the background the factory and fields symbolize the growing economy.

She was also an illustrator of numerous children’s books.                                                                                                                                           .
