Zsolt Boromissza
Zsolt Boromissza was a painter and graphic artist, who mostly worked as an illustrator and poster artist from the 1950s. He had already been preparing for medical school since childhood. However, on the advice of art historian Ákos Koczogh, he went to Budapest and enrolled in the graphics department at the Academy of Fine Arts, where he was taught by Gyula Hincz, Károly Koffán, and Jenő Barcsay. He finished his studies in 1952, his diploma work was an illustration of a short story by Péter Veres. Immediately after finishing college, he became a member of the Fine Arts Fund, and in 1953 he had his first group exhibition in the Art Gallery.
In 1954, he was admitted to the Association of Visual Artists, from which he was expelled after the 1956 Revolution. In 1964, his first solo exhibition was organized in the Cultural Center of the MOM. He was an employee of the Magyar Tankönyvkiadó for twelve years.
