Martini human cannonball - Budapest Metropolitan Grand Circus
B2 (cca. 50 x 70 cm)
Fine, light fold marks and wear.
Paper, offset lithography.
Modern circus poster from the 1960s. Its visuality evokes the monumental, realist, but stylized and modern tendency of the poster styles of 1940s in Hungarian poster art.
A huge amount of circus posters capture a scene with animals as their figures can be represented in several manner, and they can be colourful and attractive elements of compositions. However, this poster depicts a man who is being fired from a cannon, like he was a living cannon-ball.
