Tomaska Irén

Irén Tomaska is a graphic designer. She was a student of Sándor Bortnyik and György Kádár at the Academy of Applied Arts between 1947 and 1952.
Later she continued her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts. She made several field trips to Belgium, and to West Germany. She had numerous solo exhibitions during her lifetime. She often worked on book illustrations, mainly for children’s books and course books.
Her posters represent the playful and humorous tendency in the poster art of the 1950s and 1960s. With her charming design for the Zi-Zi candy, she won the prize for the best commercial poster in 1958. .
