This piece is a scarce relic from the early years of Hungarian poster art. It promotes a play presented in the National Theater on the 15th of March in 1899.
Viktor Rákosi, the author of he play, also known under his pseudonym Sipulusz was a Hungarian writer, journalist, humorist, member of parliament, and sport leader. The coauthor pf the play was László Beöthy who was the director of the Hungarian Theatre and the National Theather. (source: wikipedia.org)
