Description:

Salgo briquette is a vintage Hungarian modernist commercial advertising poster designed by Gyula E. Kando.

Gyula E Kando was a painter and graphic designer who studied under Sandor Bortnyik at Muhely, the Hungarian Bauhaus in Budapest between 1928 and 1931. He worked as a poster artist and set designer in the late 1920s and the 1930s. His wife was the photographer, Ata Kando, with whom he moved to Paris in the 1930s. From the late 1930s, he focused on painting.
