Description:
This propaganda poster from 1919; it was made after the fall of the Hungarian Soviet Republic. The poster declares that the Soviet regime caused lot of damages and it was a bloody terror.
The design is very aggressive: a severed head appears on a bloody cross, stubbed with a sword. The red star is the motif what identifies the soviet regime.
The poster was created by the leading graphic designer of the new era, Manno Miltiades. He was the favourite designer of governor Horthy, thus he created many political posters, not surprisingly for the right or extreme right side.
The poster was ordered and published by the Ebredo Magyarok Egyesulete (EME) (Association of the Awakening Hungarians). It was an extreme rightist organization that was formed after the fall of the Soviet Regime in 1919, and it became more and more popular. The Association was strongly anti-semitic, it openly articulated the goal: to "protect the Hungarians form the Jews".
