Post-war rebuilding in Hungary involved massive reconstruction efforts, initially led by a socialist government's Three-Year Plan (1947-1949) focusing on heavy industry and infrastructure, exceeding targets but under communist control, followed by extensive, often historically insensitive, partial repairs to damaged heritage like Buda Castle. These lottery tickets helped raising funds for the reconstuction efforts.
