Description:

This will be one forint tomorrow too is a 1946 Hungarian vintage poster maquette by Gyorgy Konecsni.

The Hungarian forint was introduced on August 1, 1946, replacing the pengo, which had caused the largest hyperinflation in world history following World War II. As part of the stabilization, the new currency was initially based on gold, which created the restoration of economic order. The forint (HUF) has been the official currency of Hungary ever since, and its currency was the filler.

The hyperinflation of the pengo in 1945–1946 necessitated the introduction of a new, stable currency. During the monetary reform, the tax pengo was converted, and the 1946 forint was launched with a fixed gold standard. The first series consisted of 10 and 100 forint denominations, designed by graphic artist Endre Horvath. The name forint refers to the Florentine "fiorino d'oro" gold coin. The introduction of the forint on August 1, 1946, ended the economic chaos and prices stabilized. The posters announcing the introduction of the new currency were designed by Gyorgy Konecsni.
