Description:

Spectacular socialist realist propaganda poster from the early 1950's.

The design was created by the greatest master of the time, György Konecsni. The figure of a working-class man was commonly used in the state political propaganda which employed Socialist Realism as an obligatory style in every field of art. The working-class male figure always appears as the hero of Socialism. Here he symbolizes the development of the industry. Although socialist realist designs had to employ the boring greyish, terrene colour-scale together with a realist portrayal to create photorealistic images, this work is made a bit more special by its pastel colors. On the other hand, the heroic manner couldn't be avoided.
