Description:
This early poster exhibition poster was designed by Andras Mate. The occasion was also unique: it was April of 1956, when a poster exhibition was organized in the National Salon, which radically changed the standards of poster design. This was the first time since years, that the Hungarian artists (poster designers) rebelled against the official socialist realist style. (And all that happened months before the revolution in October 1956). Most of the exhibited works were designs that never appeared on the streets. The new, expressive, painted poster style is well demonstrated on Mate's painted design.
