Ovenall Baeder toothpaste
A1 1 Sheet (cca. 55 x 84 cm)
Fine, light fold marks and wear, small tears.
Paper, offset lithography.
Outstanding masterpiece by Gyozo Szilas.
The poster was published for export purposes, it was presented only abroad. The Hungarian government put a special emphasis on promoting Hungarian products outside the country. For this goal, they ordered artistic and modern poster designs, which differed very much from the socialist realist posters that were produced for the local market.
Szilas's poster was made in the late 1950s, but the exact year is uncertain, as the export posters usually lack date and publishing information.
The design is very decorative, it shows the influence of the Swiss graphic design. Szilas was able to represent these simple objects in a very artistic, hyperrealistic manner.
