Description:

Poster for the cosmetic brand Gardenia. In the times of Socialism, factories were owned by the state and production was controlled by it. In the 1960s there were six companies responsible for the production of cosmetic goods. Gardenia was produced by the company established in 1831 by József Hutter, the father of the famous Hutter soap. The same company - which today is called Caola-Alfa Ltd. - produced brands like Ovenall, Flóra, Schmoll, Opera etc. Gardenia did not only have cologne but other toiletries as well, however, the cologne water was their signature product. On this poster the text tells that the perfumery sells Gardenia cologne water and other cosmetic products. The composition also puts  the emphasis on the cologne water: Santa Claus has various Gardenia cosmetic products on his slay For example on his slide and the Gardenia Cologne Water's bottle is the biggest item of all. Certainly the poster is not realistic as the other goods are irrealistiocally bif also.  The design has a cute, Chrismas atmosphere
