Description:
Lovely tram poster for a deodorant. The cartoon-like style was very common in the 1960s. The composition consists of the drawn image of the advertised product. The text on the bottle says: deodorant, antiperspirant, stops body odour. A young and fit girl is standing holding the name of the brand up high in her hands so we can see here completely dry armpits. Around her there is a circle made of shapes which look like tree leaves which creates the impression of freshness and good smell. At the bottom the text means: neatness, verdure. These two words sum up the atmosphere created by the poster. It is very interesting that the artist had chosen a black background becasue for posters advertising cosmetic brands the usage of clean, fresh colours like blue or white was more widely spread. However, this piece proves that it is also possible to make the audience associate with cleanliness by using darker colours if the composition is mature enough. This piece, For all occasions... , applies the same green and black colours and it works on that as well while there are more tradition colours used on these Unimo and health propaganda posters.
