Description:
Poster for the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble's album, Rainbow Garland. The Hungarian State Folk Ensemble is a band established by Miklós Rábai in 1950. Their first solo performance was held in 1951 May, in the City Theater. The ensemble consists of a music band, a dance group and choir. They perform traditional folk music and dance, drama plays and visual theater based on authetic Hungarian folk elements.
The poster displays a dancing couple in traditional Hungarian folk dresses. The name of the band is on the top of the poster and below the dancers is the title of the album being advertised. The dancers are made of paper cut outs of black and white which is in contrast with the colour of the background. A very decorative piece.
