Fekon men's underwear - the leading brand
B2 (cca. 50 x 70 cm)
Fine, light fold marks and wear.
The poster advertises Fékon a man's shirt and underwear manufacturer.
FÉKON was the very first on the socialist Hungarian clothing market to pay attention to quality. This brand was the first to produce more elegant shirts when the market was flooded by flannels.
The major part of this poster is black with white text what resembles chalk on the blackboard. In contrast, in the top part men wearing colourful shirts appear in the disco style fashionable in the 1970s. The author of the poster applied a mixed style of burnt photography and painting-like technique. Some elements carry the poster art style of the 1960s, however the new tendencies that appeared in the 1970s are clearly present as well. This makes the piece a document of the transition to a new era in Hungarian poster art.
