Description:

Medicor Budapest - Hypodermic Syringe is a 1966 vintage Hungarian commercial advertising poster designed by Robert Muray.

The poster advertises the new product of Medicor Budapest: the sterile hypodermic syringe. The disposable syringes were introduced in Hungary in the 1960s. Prior to that glass syringes were in use which were sterilized before each use. In warefare other solutions were applied since the circumstances did not allow sterilization all the time. It means disposable glass and tin syringes had been in use from the beginning of the 20th century in warfare, but plastic disposable ones for everyday use were only introduced in the 1960s.

According to the poster the advertised product was produced in Hungary. Muray used photomontage technique for his composition.
