Description:

Fashion Jewellery is a 1964 vintage Hungarian poster by Margit Sandor.

The design is very elegant thanks to the different shades of dark blue and the delicate shapes. The two figures are not displayed entirely, the composition looks as if the viewer zoomed in to take a closer look at the jewels of  the models. This idea draws the attention to the advertised items and so does their shiny surface being in contrast with the dark colours and the white skin of the lady. The suit of the man behind the lady completely melts into the background. Only his cuffs, white shirt, tie and golden tie-clip indicate that he is there, standing behind the lady.

The vivid pink text says: fashion jewellery. There is no brand name or address where these were available, but this was very typical of the advertisements in the socialist era as there was no real competition on the market, posters often advertised certain goods, not brands.
